The 2024 season will be the last for the 39-year-old Briton with Mercedes
Ferrari officially announced that the seven-time champion Formula 1 Lewis Hamilton will join the team in 2025. A multi-year contract will be signed with the legendary British racer.
In the Ferrari camp, Lewis should replace Carlos Sainz. The Briton will become the partner of Charles Leclerc, with whom the Scuderia recently extended his contract.
The 2024 season will be the last for 39-year-old Hamilton Mercedes, for which he has competed since 2013 and won six championship titles. Another time the Briton became Formula 1 champion in McLaren, which he represented in the period 2007-12.
In 2020, Hamilton became the Formula 1 world champion for the seventh time and equaled the legendary Michael Schumacher in the number of championship titles. The Briton is also the first driver in Formula 1 history to achieve 100 victories.
Hamilton finished the last Formula 1 season in third place in the individual drivers’ championship. The start of the new campaign is scheduled for February 29 – March 3: the Bahrain Grand Prix will take place on these days.

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and Lewis Hamilton will part ways at the end of the 2024 season. Lewis has activated a release option in the contract announced last year.
