The winners of the Silk Way rally-raid were rewarded in Luzhniki

President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov participated in the awards ceremony for the winners of the “Silk Way” rally-raid.

The event takes place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The Silk Way Rally, which started on July 6 in Astrakhan, ended on July 16 in Moscow.

Aleksey Naumov won the motorcycle class, Alexander Gatiyatulin was second and Evgeny Tikhonov was third. Dmitry Kalinin won the ATV ranking, Alexander Maksimov won silver, Alexander Gilemov won bronze.

In the ranking of all-terrain vehicles, the first place was taken by the crew Nikita Mazepin and Anton Vlasyuk, second place went to Armen Puzyan and Kirill Shubin, third place went to Sergey Karyakin and Ivan Bezdenezhnykh.

— We are proud of Nikita Mazepin, who played with Anton Vlasyuk. They won and it’s very cool. Especially for Nikita, this is a first rally-raid, a world-class competition, and he coped with this 10-day marathon, – Karyakin said from the stage.

– I am very happy, two of my dreams have come true – I wanted to win a race in a different discipline than the one I raced in earlier, and win at home. I was born just a 15-minute drive from Luzhniki, and now I could drive the car on a pedestal,” Mazepin himself added from the scene.

In the ranking of modified SUVs (T1), the crew of Denis Krotov and Konstantin Zhiltsov became the owners of the White Tiger, Alexander Rusanov and Evgeny Pavlov took second place, and Evgeny Sukhovenko and Kirill Chapaev took third place.

In the production SUV shift (T2), the entire podium was occupied by racers from Turkmenistan. Merdan and Shokhrat Toylyevs won, Shamyrat Gubanov and Muhammetmurat Gurbanov came second, Maksatmyrat Donatarov and Didar Orazmedov took third place.

Dmitry Sotnikov won the truck category for the second consecutive time and the fourth in his career, Ruslan Akhmadeev and Ilgiz Akhmetzyanov were in the carriage with him. Silver went to the crew of Eduard Nikolaev, Yevgeny Yakovlev and Bogdan Karimov, Belarusians Sergey Vyazovich, Pavel Garanin and Vitaly Murylev won bronze.

Along with Pozdnyakov, the race winners were rewarded by Silk Way Rally leader and seven-time Dakar winner Vladimir Chagin.
