Carlos Sainz inspected the car before starting what would be his last season with the team. “When I saw the ‘SF-24’ for the first time I wanted to get on it and start the engine… I can’t wait to fly it on the track to see, as the simulator shows, that it is the step forward that we want all,” express. And he added: “The goal is to have a more manageable car and therefore have a consistent race pace, which are the main requirements to be able to fight for victory.”

For his part, Leclerc commented that he “likes the new project”, especially “the white and yellow bodywork details.” However, its main interest is not aesthetics: “The ‘SF-24’ promises to be less sensitive and easier to manage, and I would say that for us this is exactly what we need to do it well.

“I expect a step forward in many aspects and from what I understand in the simulator I think we are where we want to be. This season, the goal is always at the forefront: I want to reward our fans with many great races and rededicate the victories to them,” declared the Monegasque.

The drivers, who last year had the opportunity to test the car at the legendary Fiorano circuit in Maranello (Modena), the home of Ferrari, will have to wait a few days to do their first tests with the ‘Prancing Horse’ , although they are before the official tests in Bahrain for commercial reasons.

For his part, the Ferrari team’s general director, Frenchman Fred Vasseur, said he was determined to maintain the level at the end of last season. “This year we have to start again from where we left off at the end of last seasonwhen we were always in the top position,” he said.
