Who is Oliver Bearman, Sainz’s replacement in F1 who will make history at Ferrari

The 18-year-old British man will be the youngest rider to debut for the team this Friday as the Spaniard underwent appendicitis surgery.

Oliver Bearman will make history at the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The 18-year-old and 10-month-old Briton will become the youngest driver to drive for the Ferrari team since He will replace Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who suffered from appendicitis and had to undergo surgery.

In this way, the youngsters will be the ones to sit in the place left and do it from the free practice 3 this Friday until the race which takes place on Saturday from 2 pm at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

In his debut with the team, Bearman will break the record previously held by Mexican Ricardo Rodríguez, who made his debut at the 1961 Italian GP when he was 19 years, six months and 27 days old.

The good news received by Bearman, where a place was opened due to Sainz’s injury, means that I will not be able to participate in the Formula 2 race -He is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy- where he took pole position, thus losing his chance to start in first place.
