Format change for the Imola Grand Prix

The 4th round of Formula 1 will be the first weekend with a sprint race of the season.

Format change for the Imola Grand Prix

After passing through Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia, the Formula 1 came to Italy to perform Imola Grand Prix.

First sprint date

The first three F1 events are in the regular format: three practices, a qualifier and a Grand Prix dispute. Today, in Imola, the sprint race will run for the first time of the season, on Saturday.

Unlike 2021, where it was called the sprint classification and the poleman was defined, for this year the owner of the pole position will dominate the classification.

How will it run?

On Friday, only one hour free training session will be held on Friday and then it is time for sorting divided into Q1, Q2 and Q3, as is usually done every Saturday to select the grid.

Meanwhile, on Saturday there will be a free practice session before the sprint race, which is scheduled for 21 laps.

Finally, on Sunday, as traditionally, the Grand Prix will run, generating 63 laps.
