The fourth round of the Russian Drift Series (RDS GP) Grand Prix, dedicated to the memory of Andrey Naumov, RDS GP judge, who died in a car accident this spring, ended on the Krasnoye Koltso track. This weekend will go down in history with a spectacular double-round fight, “Furidashi Battle” and an intense battle for victory, which required two OMT rounds at once.
Damir Idiyatulin (SINTEC FRESH AUTO DRIFT) and Arkady Tsaregradtsev (FailCrew Darkseid) started the top 16 as favorites with 97 points each. The leaderboard split the athletes on opposite sides of the pairing grid, and it turned out that Damir and Arkady met in a showdown for the podium spots.
On the way to the decisive battle, Idiyatulin overcame the resistance of Anton Dmitrienko (BY Motorsport) without any problems, then in the contact fight he managed to overcome Nikita Shikov (Carville Racing). In the semi-final, Roman Tivodar (Forward Auto) became Damir’s opponent, but the error of the young driver from the Krasnoyarsk team made Idiyatulin’s game, paving the way for the final.
And there Arkady Tsaregradtsev was waiting for him. On the way to the final, he first beat Denis Migal (SINTEC FRESH AUTO DRIFT), then had a super spectacular race with Charles Ng (STAR РЁR STARS AIMOL) and in the semi-finals met the Most experienced Siberian Evgeny Losev (SINTEC FRESH AUTO DRIFT). And again, the opponent’s mistake played a role – Losev made a spot, which decided the fate of second place in the final.
At the decisive moment, Idiyatulin and Tsaregradtsev (both from Krasnoyarsk) demonstrated the full power of the Siberian drift. One race was not enough for the judges to determine the winner – a new race (OMT) was needed. Yes, not one, but two at a time, and it wasn’t until the third attempt (the main duel and two OMTs) that the jury named the winner.
Arkady Tsaregradtsev won his first victory in the 2022 season, finally conquering the home track “Red Ring”. Additionally, FailCrew leader Darkseid climbed to the top step of the podium for the first time in a year and a half – the previous time the “Tsar” won the RDS GP in May 2021.

One of the heroes of the weekend of the RDS GP in Krasnoyarsk is Charles Ng, who defends the colors of the STAR РЁR STARS AIMOL team. The driver from Hong Kong has had a brilliant career at the wheel of the Flanker F, Sergey Kabargin’s Russian hypercar. Charles was impressed with the car’s competent engineering design and huge racing potential – paired runs with Arkady Tsaregradtsev in the top 8 and a 124-degree sideslip angle at Furidashi Battle became the highlight of the stage.
Evgeny Losev from the SINTEC FRESH AUTO DRIFT team, although he stopped one step from the podium, won the battle of Furidashi, showing a phenomenal angle of 130 degrees. During the top 32 stage, the organizers decided to organize an informal “Furidashi Battle” between the pilots who performed the obligatory bye run – the winner was the one who showed the maximum angle during the skid and was able to keep running after that.
Everyone recognized the experience as successful – pilots, fans and organizers. Therefore, at the next stage in St. Petersburg, the participants of the GP RDS will fight in a new battle – on the Igora Drive track, which promotes high-speed experiments, the name of the driver who will show the maximum skid speed will be named.
Despite Arkady Tsaregradtsev’s victory, the Krasnoyarsk stage did not affect the balance of power in the individual and team competitions. The positions in the top three have been preserved, but the gaps have narrowed, which means that everything can already change at the RDS GP stage in Saint Petersburg.

The next stage of the Russian Drift Series Grand Prix will take place in three weeks – starting from the Siberian Tour, the country’s main drift competitions will come to the northern capital. The Igora Drive track will host the fifth stage of the RDS GP-2022 in Saint Petersburg on August 13 and 14.
