Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez are positioned behind the world champion
Current Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen won pole for Australian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver was the only driver to complete the qualifying lap faster than 1 minute and 16 seconds (1:15.915). Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was second, 0.270 seconds behind.
Rounding out the top ten are Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Lando Norris (McLaren), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), George Russell (Mercedes), Yuki Tsunoda (RB), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Fernando Alonso ( Aston Martin). Let us note that former world champion Lewis Hamilton did not make it into the third qualifying segment.
Verstappen leads the Formula 1 championship, 15 points ahead of his Red Bull teammate Perez. The Australian Grand Prix will take place on March 24, the race starts at 6:00 Kyiv time.
