Red Bull driver Perez penalized three positions at the start of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix

Mexican pilotRed Bull » Sergio Perez received a three-position penalty at the start of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix race, according to the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) website.

It is worth noting that the Mexican was fined for blocking Nico Hulkenberg of the Haas team during qualifying, where Perez posted third place. In this episode, the German driver “was forced to take action to avoid a collision” with Perez at turn 13.

Thus, Perez will start in sixth position in Sunday’s race. Lando Norris (McLaren), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren) climbed to third, fourth and fifth places respectively. The Mexican’s teammate, Dutchman Max Verstappen, won the qualifying round while Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) set a second fastest time.

The Australian Grand Prix race will take place at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne and will start at 7:00 Moscow time.
