The two-time world champion’s new agreement with the British team runs until the end of 2026
Spanish racing driver Fernando Alonso officially extended his contract with the Formula 1 team Aston Martin. The new agreement runs until the end of 2026.
42-year-old Alonso has been competing in Formula 1 since 2001 (with minor breaks). Over the years, he managed to change six teams. Became champion twice (2005 – 2006) with Renault.
The experienced Spaniard has been piloting Aston Martin since 2023. Last season, Alonso finished in the top 3 eight times and ultimately finished fourth in the overall standings, his highest since 2013.
In the 2024 season, Alonso has not yet reached the podium. In the last race – the Japanese Grand Prix on April 7 – Fernando finished sixth.
