Verstappen wins the sprint race at the Miami Grand Prix

Leclerc and Perez also took places on the podium

Current world champion Max Verstappen became the winner of the sprint race within Miami Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver, who had previously won qualifying, had no problem defending his leading position from the encroachments of competitors.

Places on the podium were distributed in full accordance with the qualifying results. In the final race, the Dutchman was 3.371 seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Third was another Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez.

Also finishing in the top 10 were Daniel Ricciardo (RB), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas), Yuki Tsunoda (RB), Pierre Gasly (Alpin) and Logan Sargent (Williams).

Note that Lance Stroll and Lando Norris finished the race already on the second lap, and another participant in the incident, Fernando Alonso, finished only 17th.

For Verstappen, who continues to dominate in the new season, this victory was the second in a row and the ninth in his career in the sprint.

The main race of the Miami stage will take place on Sunday, May 5, and will begin at 23:00.
