One person died after a car hit spectators during a rally in the Leningrad region

During the Rally Cup of the Leningrad region, a racing car crashed into spectators, killing one person, reports the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Commission of the region.

The emergency situation occurred on Saturday near the village of Melnikovo, Priozersky district, Leningrad region. Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on the provision of services not meeting safety requirements.

The Leningrad Region Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Priozersk city prosecutor’s office had taken control of the development of the criminal case.
