The Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) has expressed its condolences following the tragedy at the Leningrad Region Rally Cup.
The emergency situation occurred on Saturday near the village of Melnikovo, Priozersky district, Leningrad region. During the race, a racing car crashed into spectators, killing one person.
— The car of one of the participants in the competition left the track, hitting two spectators. One of the victims died in hospital, the second was released after a medical examination. The continuation of the rally was immediately interrupted.
The tragedy that occurred will be fully investigated and the situation will be placed under the control of the RAF.
