Leclerc won the Monaco Grand Prix, Verstappen sixth

Already on the first lap the race was suspended with red flags due to an accident involving Sergio Perez

Pilot Ferrari Charles Leclerc, started from pole position, won Monaco Grand Prix. This is the Monegasque’s first success in the 2024 season and the first victory in his career at home Formula 1.

McLaren representative Oscar Piastri finished second. Next were Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Lando Norris (McLaren) and George Russell (Mercedes). Three-time world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished sixth.

Also finishing in the top 10 were Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Yuki Tsunoda (RB), Alexander Albon (Williams) and Pierre Gasly (Alpin).

Note that already on the first lap the race was suspended with red flags due to an accident involving Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen (both Haas).

Interestingly, the famous football player Kylian Mbappe, as a guest star, waved the checkered flag at the finish of the Monaco Grand Prix.

Verstappen leads the overall Formula 1 standings, 31 points ahead of Leclerc. The next Grand Prix of the 2024 season will be held in Canada on June 9.
