Zidane will start the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 92nd running of the legendary Grand Prix of Endurance will take place on June 15

Famous French football player and coach Zinedine Zidane will start the 92nd marathon “24 Hours of Le Mans”. The ceremonial moment will take place on Saturday, June 15, at 16:00 local time.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a legendary endurance race that has been running (on and off) since 1923. It takes place annually in the summer near the French city of Le Mans on the Sarthe circuit, 13.6 kilometers long. The winner is the crew that travels the greatest distance in 24 hours.

In 2023, this marathon was won for the first time since 1965 by the Ferrari team (Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado and Alessando Pier Guidi), interrupting Toyota’s five-year hegemony. The start of last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans was given by the famous American basketball player LeBron James.

51-year-old Zidane is a 1998 Ballon d’Or winner, a world and European champion with the French national team, and a four-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid (2002 as a player, 2016-2018 as a coach). Remains out of the profession since the summer of 2021, after leaving the Madrid club again.
