Top Race: Azar wins final on Rafaela

Diego Azar achieved victory in the final of the Top Race at the Rafaela racetrack. The competition ended with the Safety Car.

With a finish that ended in a Safety Car, Diego Azar achieved victory in the Top Race competition in Rafaela at the close of “Speed ​​​​​​​​Week”. Jorge Barrio and Facundo Aldighetti completed the podium.

The final started with Aldrighetti in first place, but after a few meters he went away in the chicane and had to give up the place to Azar, who was the leader. Reutemann was third, Barrio was fourth and Stefano Di Palma was fifth.

Then, Reutemann tried to pass Aldrighetti, they held and both lost some placements. The new second is Barrio, third Ciarrocchi, fourth Stefano Di Palma, fourth and fifth Felippo.

On lap four, Rossi passed Verriello and moved into sixth. The Octanos team driver then managed to regain the position, but suffered problems with the Fiat and was delayed. While Josito Di Palma in a breakthrough is sixth.

With 18 minutes to go, Stefano Di Palma overtook Ciarrocchi and took third. At the turn, Josito Di Palma beat Felippo around the curve and was in fifth. Later, Ciarrocchi overbraked at the final chicane and lost positions with Josito Di Palma and Aldrighetti.

On lap ten, Josito Di Palma left his brother Stefano and finished third. In turn, “Fefo” fell another placement to Aldrighetti. Then, the Halcon Motorsport driver overtook Josito Di Palma and took third.

With seven minutes to go before the checkered flag was lowered, Ciarrocchi wanted to pass Stefano Di Palma, they came into contact and lost their way. The reefeño was left behind in the car, which is why the Safety Car entered.

Finally the Safety Car competition ended and it was victory for Diego Azar in Rafaela. Barrio, Aldrighetti, Josito Di Palma joined and completed the top five Kevin Felippo.

In the championship, Azar is now the leader with 191 points, followed by Josito Di Palma with 181 and Aldrighetti with 175. The next date of the Top Race is August 21 at the “Juan Manuel Fangio” racetrack in Rosario.
