The current winner of the Silk Way Rally in the cargo category is a Belarusian driver and leader of the MAZ-SPORTauto team. Sergei Viazovich said that in 2024 he only has one mindset: to win the race again.
The Silk Road Rally will take place across Russia and Mongolia from July 5-15. The start of the race is planned in Tomsk, the finish is in Ulaanbaatar.
– Viktor Sokolov (first deputy director of the Silk Way Rally – Editor’s note) scared us so much that I was left speechless. If I had spoken before him, I would have had a more optimistic story about our plans (smiles). The course is impressive and challenging. We are the winners of the 2023 rally, we are responsible to the factory workers and the supporters. It will be difficult for the crews in the race.
Our rivals really want to take revenge for last year, but we want to repeat the success of 2023. The fight in the truck category will be intense, we will arrive in good shape and with a serious attitude, determined only to win. Our team is small, it has about 30 people, but we have a large automobile factory behind us,” reports the correspondent of , according to Viazovich’s words.
The total length of the Silk Way Rally will be 5,257 km, the length of the special stages will be 2,993 km.
