Responsible for the international “Silk Way” rally Vladimir Chagin said that during the 2024 competitions, participants must be prepared for the fact that they will have to pass through different climatic zones.
On Thursday, a presentation of the Silk Way Rally route will take place in Moscow. The race will take place across Russia and Mongolia from July 5-15. Departure is planned in Tomsk, arrival is in Ulaanbaatar.
— This year is special, we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of the project. The race will introduce participants to the most amazing places on the Eurasian continent. Each edition of the Silk Way Rally is special.
I am pleased to present the 14th edition of the rally – one of the most difficult and interesting courses in the history of our project. The particularity of this year is that participants will have to cross different climatic zones. You must be prepared not only to distribute your forces over the entire distance, but also to be able to quickly adapt to constantly changing conditions and types of coverage.
This year we are hosted by Mongolia, a country with eternal blue skies and unimaginable beauty which was so hospitable to the Silk Way Rally in 2019. I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Mongolia for its active participation in the preparation of our gathering.
The Silk Road will extend from western Mongolia to the central part and end in Ulaanbaatar. Moreover, it is a very symbolic and unique coincidence that the country’s main annual national holiday, Naadam, takes place these days; it will add a special flavor to the race.
I would also like to thank the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation and the country’s Ministry of Sports for their support of the project. Furthermore, I would like to thank PJSC Gazprom and personally Alexey Borisovich Miller for their many years of cooperation. I would like to highlight the invaluable contribution of Gazprom Neft PJSC and Gazprombank.
