Verstappen wins dramatic Canadian Grand Prix

Lando Norris and George Russell finished on the podium, both Ferrari drivers missed the finish

Current world champion in Formula 1 Max Verstappen bright won Canadian Grand Prix.

The race started on a wet track after heavy rain, which gradually began to dry out. Because of this, a large number of overtakings, mistakes and accidents occurred. The safety car had to enter the track several times.

Verstappen was able to take first place after a pit stop by McLaren driver Lando Norris, who had an unfortunate encounter with a wet patch. Lando ended up finishing in second place. Third was George Russell in a Mercedes, who did not retain the pole position he had won the day before.

The top 10 also included Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. Note that both Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, failed to finish, retiring for various reasons.

Verstappen scored his 60th career win in Formula 1. The Dutchman continues to lead the 2024 World Cup.
