The Spaniard has the right to terminate the contract early at the end of each year
Two-time world champion in Formula 1 Fernando Alonso will earn about 20 million euros by agreement with Aston Martin.
It is reported that the team has signed an open contract with the rider on a 1 + 1 + 1 basis. Alonso has the right after each season to extend or terminate the agreement at its discretion.
The 41-year-old Spaniard will serve exclusively as a racer. The contract does not provide for the brand ambassador or other image areas of the team.
Earlier, Aston Martin announced the transfer of Alonso from the new season. The Spaniard will replace Sebastian Vettel, who will retire from Formula 1 at the end of 2022.
Aston Martin reportedly initially offered Vettel a one-year contract extension. The four-time world champion, after consulting with his family, decided to stop performing.
Alonso is playing for Alpin this season. After 13 stages, the Spaniard is in 10th place in the overall standings with 41 points.
