The current winner of the Silk Way Rally truck category is a Belarusian Sergei Vyazovich of the MAZ-SPORTauto team told of his desire to win the race again.
This year’s Silk Road Rally will take place across Russia and Mongolia from July 5 to 15. The race is scheduled to start in Tomsk and end in Ulaanbaatar.
– The mood is great. Tests were held on wet roads. The section is short – only 2 km, we had an hour for testing – it is not enough for us. But everyone is on an equal footing. The cars are fine. It seems that the start of the race will be wet and there will be rain. When braking, the truck is slippery, you have to take into account the inertia of the car. Everything else is easy for the car. I have a fast car, it has an advantage over the previous model.
“I think we will be very competitive. We came to show a good result, we will try to defend the title of the rally winner. But before the start, it is incorrect and inappropriate to say that we need to go to Mongolia and see who occupies what place,” Viazovich told .
The total length of the Silk Way Rally will be 5,257 km, the length of the special stages will be 2,993 km.
