The mountain bike of one of the participants in the Silk Way Rally marathon completely burned down during the second stage of the race, the athlete was sent to the hospital, a correspondent reports.
The second stage of the Silk Way Rally took place on Saturday on the Tomsk – Barnaul route. The rally organizers, in response to a request from , confirmed that a racing incident had occurred involving an ATV rider.
“As a result of a racing incident, the rally participant’s mountain bike completely burned down, the athlete himself was sent to the nearest medical center for help,” rally organizers told .
The Silk Road Rally crosses Russia and Mongolia and ends on July 15 in Ulaanbaatar.
