Franco Colapinto and a dream weekend: he finished fourth at Silverstone

After his memorable Formula 1 P1 debut, the Argentine driver finished just behind the podium in the British GP’s Feature Race.

Franco Colapintothe young Argentine driver, closed this Sunday a weekend that will surely be marked in his sporting life in British Grand Prix of Formula 2. Silverstone brought the Pilar native the opportunity to enter a Formula 1 for the first time in Practice 1 and in the final hours he placed fourth in the Feature Race.

Franco did a great job, in a race that had several safety car interruptions at the start, to stay behind the podium and thus continue to add points after finishing fifth in the Sprint. In the units he accumulated after passing through the legendary British circuit, Colapinto is in fifth place in the championship with 92 units, a difference of 41 points from the leader Isack Hadjar. Second in the tournament was Paul Aron with 117 and third was Zane Maloney with 101.

Colapinto was fast on the soft tires in the closing laps, but the margin proved too great to overcome, and he finished fourth, narrowly edging out Martins. Isack Hadjar took advantage at Silverstone and established himself as the new championship leader with his third victory of the season. Behind him and completing the podium were Zane Maloney and Jak Crawford respectively.

The next Formula 2 date is the weekend of July 19 to 21 at the Hungarian Grand Prix at the legendary Hungaroring, where the Argentine will look to score points and continue climbing the table.

In the first laps of the Feature Race at Silverstone, the legendary circuit of Great Britain, the Argentine driver performed a great maneuver to overtake Juan Manuel Correa, racing for DAMS, on the outside. His audacious overtaking was applauded.
