The College of Sports Commissioners (BCS) has approved the application of the MAZ-SPORTauto crews Sergei Vyazovich and KAMAZ-master Eduard Nikolayev to make up for lost time during the third stage of the Silk Road marathon rally, reports a correspondent.
The third stage of the Silk Way Rally took place on Sunday on the Barnaul – Gorno-Altaisk route.
After the finish, Viazovich said he intended to appeal to the judges asking them to restore the time lost through no fault of his due to a tree blocking the road. In addition, the Belarusian driver narrowly avoided a head-on collision with the crew from Nikolaev after the riders were unable to complete the course due to tape stretched across the road.
Vyazovich was compensated 5 minutes 10 seconds for the delay due to a fallen tree, Nikolaev – 1 minute 4 seconds. Earlier, Vyazovich was given back 2 minutes 18 seconds for a poorly stretched tape, because of which the driver lost time looking for the checkpoint.
Thus, Viazovich showed the third place in the cargo ranking based on the results of the third stage, Nikolaev became fourth.
The Silk Road Rally crosses Russia and Mongolia and ends on July 15 in Ulaanbaatar. The total length of the race will be 5,243 km, the length of the special stages will be 2,992 km.
