KAMAZ-master team driver Andrei Karginov said that during the tenth stage of the Silk Way Rally marathon he had to do many jumps onto a truck, which was very dangerous.
The tenth stage of the Silk Road Rally on the Bayankhongor – Mandalgobi route ended on Sunday in Mongolia. The head of the freight classification is KAMAZ master driver Dmitry Sotnikov.
— A fast and fast special, but very difficult. There were a lot of bumps and holes and we had to cut the road. We did a lot of jumps on the trampolines. Driving in such conditions is very risky. Our guys walked in front, none of them needed our help. We rode at our own pace and never stopped. The rain adapted, the windshield wipers worked at maximum and I had to look at the road more closely. Tomorrow we will give our 100% to finish the race with a good result and get on the podium, “the correspondent reports, reporting Karginov’s words.
Driver of the MAZ-SPORTauto B teamItaly Murylev said that on a slippery road due to rain, his truck began to skid off the road.
— There were no difficulties, everything went very quickly. Some of the trucks in front of us left a good track, so there were no problems with navigation. When it started to rain, it started to get slippery and the car started to slide, but the wide exits helped to cope with it, Murylev noted.
The Silk Road Rally crosses Russia and Mongolia and ends on July 15 in Ulaanbaatar. The total length of the race is 5,243 km, the length of the special stages is 2,992 km.
