Dmitry Sotnikov of KAMAZ-master won the Silk Way rally marathon for the fifth time in his career

KAMAZ-master team driver Dmitry Sotnikov won the overall truck classification at the Silk Way Rally Marathon, reports correspondent.

The eleventh stage of the Silk Road rally marathon, on the Mandalgobi – Ulaanbaatar route, ended on Monday in Mongolia. Sotnikov won the overall standings, ahead of his teammate Eduard Nikolaev. The third was the winner of the 2023 race, MAZ-SPORT racing driver Sergei Vyazovich.

For Sotnikov, the victory on the Silk Road was the fifth in his career, a rally record. Previously, the Russian won the competition in 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2022.

The Silk Road Rally took place across Russia and Mongolia from July 5 to 15. The race started in Tomsk and ended in Ulaanbaatar. The total length of the rally was 5,243 km, the length of special stages was 2,992 km.
