COPAM controls activity throughout Buenos Aires and is being questioned after what happened in La Plata last weekend.
COPAM (National Automobile and Motorcycle Commission) is an organization dependent on the Undersecretariat of Sports of the Province of Buenos Aires, headed by Leandro Lurati. will have to face the corresponding responsibilities after the sad event that happened last weekend, when the driver of the Fiat Amigos 1.4 category lost his life in an accident at the La Plata racetrack.
What is COPAM? Carburando explains this on their website: COPAM is an entity created by the Ministry of the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires through the Buenos Aires Sports Institute and includes the representative of the latter entity and the following institutions: Ministry of Justice and SecurityProvincial Transportation Directorate, Provincial Road Administration, Police, Argentine Automobile Club (ACA), Road Tourism Racers Association (ACTC), Buenos Aires Motorcycle Federation (FEBOM) and the Argentine Sports Motorcycle Confederation (CAMOD).
This commission has 13 memberswhich was distributed with seven representatives of the Executive Branch, one representative of the ACA, the ACTC, FEBOM and CAMOD and two representatives of the Regional Automobile Federations of the Province of Buenos Aires.
In addition, COPAM has, as established by Law 12391, the functions of ordering and organizing the safety aspects of the shows, in terms of the public or in relation to the conditions of the stage where they are held the tests; supervise the normal development of sporting activity, if public roads are used or those conducted in closed areas and allow, after the study, autodromes, circuits or tracks.
Last weekend’s event, which had this sad event, was authorized by COPAM according to the minutes signed on July 10.
