Former Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto has secured a key position at the Sauber team, which from the 2026 season will come under the management of Audi and change its name, the Formula 1 press office reports.
Binotto will join the team as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer effective August 1. He will report to the Board of Management of Sauber Motorsport AG. At the same time, Andreas Seidl, CEO of Sauber Motorsport AG, and Oliver Hoffmann, former Chairman of the Board of Management, are leaving the project.
Binotto’s decision to step down as Ferrari boss was announced at the end of November 2022. He was replaced at the Italian team by Frédéric Wasser.
