Italian runner Andrea Kimi Antonelli will speak for “Mercedes ” during the 2025 season, reports the press service of the Formula 1 team.
Details of the contract were not disclosed. Antonelli, 18, will replace the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton who will drive for Ferrari from next year.
The Italian’s partner at Mercedes will be George Russell playing for the team since 2022.
Antonelli made his Mercedes debut on Friday in the first practice session for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, replacing Russell. Early in the session, the Italian driver crashed his car, prompting red flags to halt the test.
In the 2024 season, Antonelli will compete in Formula 2.
