Lewis Hamilton to drive for Ferrari from new season
18 year old Italian Kimi Antonelli will become the new pilot Mercedes starting from the season 2025 years.
Antonelli will replace Lewis Hamilton, who will drive for Ferrari from 2025.
Antonelli has a distinguished junior career behind him – after winning the ADAC and Italian F4 Championships in 2022, as well as the Formula Regional European Championship in 2023, the Mercedes junior skipped F3 and entered F2 with PREMA this season.
Kimi has won two races and is currently sixth in the championship. The 18-year-old has been combining his participation in F2 with a test program in older F1 cars at Mercedes.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull still leads the 2024 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship with 295 points. Red Bull also leads the Constructors’ Championship with 434 points.
The next Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held in Italy, with the main race taking place on September 1.
