19-year-old Berman to replace disqualified Magnussen at Haas for Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Magnussen has accumulated 12 penalty points in 12 months, which is why he has been disqualified from the next round of Formula 1

19 year old pilot Oliver Berman will replace in the team Haas disqualified Kevin Magnussen on Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

At the previous Italian Grand Prix, Magnussen received a ten-second penalty and two penalty points for a collision with Alpine driver Pierre Hasley. Kevin Magnussen managed to collect 12 penalty points in 12 months – according to Formula 1 regulations, this means an automatic disqualification for the driver for the next Grand Prix.

Let us recall that in the summer, Berman signed a contract with Haas and will become the team’s main driver starting from the 2025 season. In the 2024 season, Haas will be represented by Nico Hulkenberg (who will represent Sauber/Audi from 2025) and the aforementioned Kevin Magnussen, whose contract is valid until the end of this year.

Oliver Berman is a product of the Ferrari Academy and has already made his Formula 1 debut in March 2024 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, replacing Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari team. Oliver managed to prove himself and score points, finishing the race in 7th place.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held from September 13 to 15. The main race will take place in Baku on September 15.
