Ricciardo officially leaves RB, Lawson to replace him for the rest of the season

It is not yet known whether the Australian will continue his career.

Pilot RB Honda Daniel Ricciardo officially leaves the team. The Australian will be replaced by a 22-year-old New Zealander for the rest of the season Liam Lawson.

It is not yet known whether Daniel will continue his racing career. It is reported that his participation in Formula 1 in 2025 is unlikely.

Ricciardo spent 14 seasons in the “Royal races”. The Australian took eight victories and twice finished third in the personal standings of the world championship.

Lawson made his Formula 1 debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, replacing the injured Ricciardo. Liam competed in five races, scoring points in Singapore. The New Zealander has been a reserve driver this season.

Ricciardo has 12 points this season. The team’s other driver, RB Honda’s Yuki Tsunoda, has 22 points. The Japanese driver will remain with the team for next season.
