Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton said he had suffered from mental health issues since he was 13.
— I have suffered from depression all my life. I think it has to do with the pressure of racing, the struggles at school – the bullying. I had no one to talk to. At first, I had trouble calming down.
I saw a therapist many years ago, but it didn’t help me much. “I would like to find someone who is a specialist today,” Hamilton was quoted as saying by the Sunday Times.
Currently, Hamilton, 39, is a driver for the Mercedes team. This season, the athlete won two Formula 1 stages: the British and Belgian Grands Prix. Hamilton is sixth in the title race this season. The next stage of the championship will take place from October 18 to 20 in Austin, America.
