The winners of the 2024 Track of the Year project were announced at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF). The leaders of the people’s race were representatives of six Russian regions. Award-winning athletes from Kazakhstan, Serbia and the Sverdlovsk region were in direct contact with the studio.
Prizes for the best tracks at the stand of the race organizer – Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel – were presented by: project ambassador, methane racing truck driver, member of the KAMAZ-master team Sergey Kupriyanov , Honored Coach of Russia, International Master of Sports Oleg Kharitonov, Project Ambassador, Founder of the Maltese Falcon Triathlon Team Oleg Zaitsev, Master of Sports in Cycling Renat Khamidulin, General Director of Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel Sergei Komissarov.

— The “Track of the Year” project team is growing rapidly. The length of common lines now exceeds 150,000 kilometers, which means that in a few years it will be equal to the length of all Gazprom gas pipelines. A gigantic number. As the driver of an environmentally friendly gasoline KAMAZ, I am happy that the number of automobile traces has quadrupled over these three months and the vehicle of the main record holder did not emit more than one ton of CO2 equivalent in the atmosphere. and other harmful substances. And above all, how people react to our initiative. We see how people’s eyes light up, how they charge each other, as well as those around them, neighbors, friends, relatives, with this energy. Everyone – both those who drive themselves and those who breathe air that is not poisoned by cars. It’s very cool. We are all united by the desire for respect for the environment and a healthy lifestyle. Natural gas engine fuel is our important contribution to achieving these goals,” said Sergei Kupriyanov.
Among running enthusiasts, the main award was given to Alexander Konstantinov from Ufa. His route of the year is a 56-kilometer race around Shikhanov, the calling card of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Natalya Kurbakova from the town of Lyskovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, won the new category “Track Cycling”. The participant logged cycling routes for 95 days and traveled a total of 1,219 kilometers.
Another innovation is the company nominations, in which the winners were determined based on mass participation and total mileage.
The Gazprom Mezhregiongaz team from seven regions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Orenburg, was recognized as the most active racing team and the winner of the project in the “Fun to Run Together” nomination.
In the category “Gas to Engines” among corporate fleets, the best result was shown by the team of the St. Petersburg city carrier Passazhiravtotrans. In one day of work, nearly 300 methane-powered buses used the lines to support the project.
The prize for the best running track in the “Ecological course” category was awarded to Evgeniy Kapsky from Kemerovo. The project helped the participant reach a new sporting level and run a distance of 50 km for the first time.
Among the drivers, the best “ecological route” was recorded by Kirill Ermolaev from St. Petersburg – more than 6,000 kilometers on methane to the Black Sea coast.
In the Family Track category, the first place among the drivers went to the Khairullin family from the Republic of Tatarstan. Participants traveled 4,755 kilometers from Kazan to Sochi and back.
Among the athletes, Lyubov Mokhova became the best in the Family Track category. The participant recorded her pieces with her daughters, her mother and her sister.
In the second season of the popular “Track of the Year” race, the number of participants tripled. For three months, more than 900 people recorded sports and automobile routes on two continents: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, China, South Africa, Angola and other countries.
The length of the continuous automobile route increased by 24% and reached a maximum of 1,837 kilometers. The longest cycling route is 300 kilometers, while running is 86.
The philosophy of people’s leadership, which is based on three components: environmentally friendly transport, clean air and a healthy lifestyle, formed the basis of the concept of the exhibition “Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel” at SPIGF.
