Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) at its last meeting decided to remove it from the competition regulations Formula 1 bonus clause for fastest lapstarting from season 2025.
This rule has been in effect since 2019. A bonus point at the end of each Grand Prix is awarded to the driver who showed the fastest lap time in the race – provided that he finished in the top 10.
Another change to the regulations for next year will be a doubling of mandatory Friday practices for young riders from each team – from two to four during the season.
This season, 18 Formula 1 stages out of the planned 24 have already taken place.
