Formula 1 will abolish the bonus point for the fastest lap from the new season

Each team will also be required to increase the number of training sessions for young pilots from two to four.

Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) at its last meeting decided to remove it from the competition regulations Formula 1 bonus clause for fastest lapstarting from season 2025.

This rule has been in effect since 2019. A bonus point at the end of each Grand Prix is awarded to the driver who showed the fastest lap time in the race – provided that he finished in the top 10.

Another change to the regulations for next year will be a doubling of mandatory Friday practices for young riders from each team – from two to four during the season.

This season, 18 Formula 1 stages out of the planned 24 have already taken place. Max Verstappen from Red Bull remains the leader of the championship (despite the fact that he remains without a win for seven races in a row), Lando Norris, a representative of McLaren (leader of the Constructors’ Championship), is 52 points behind him.

The next Grand Prix will be held in the USA – the event will be hosted by Austin, the main race will take place on October 20.
