Sainz won the Mexican Grand Prix, Norris second, Verstappen sixth

The Spaniard won the second Formula 1 round of the season and the fourth in his career

Pilot Ferrari Carlos Sainz became a triumphant Mexican Grand Prix. After successful qualification in Mexico City, the Spaniard managed to win the main race.

For the 30-year-old driver, this victory was the second of the season and only the fourth in Carlos’ ten-year career in Formula 1. Let us recall that in March 2024, Sainz Jr. won the Australian Grand Prix. Note that this is already the seventh podium of the season for the Ferrari driver, and the second in a row.

Lando Norris from McLaren and another Ferrari representative, Charles Leclerc, finished in the top 3. Their places in this race correspond to their positions in the overall standings of the season. But the leader and current champion, Max Verstappen, again failed to win (for the ninth race in a row), finishing only sixth. However, the Red Bull driver’s lead over Norris is an impressive 47 points, with only four rounds remaining in the season.

The top five of the Mexican Grand Prix also included two Mercedes representatives – Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The top 10 was completed by Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) and Pierre Gasly (Alpin).

The next Formula 1 round will take place in Sao Paulo (Brazil) from November 1st to 3rd.
