Verstappen will receive a five-place grid penalty for the Brazilian Grand Prix due to an engine change

The Dutch racer will use his sixth unit this season with the permitted four

Three-time world champion Formula 1 Max Verstappen will receive a fine in five positions on the starting grid Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull team management decided to change the car’s engine. Max will use the sixth unit this year, with four allowed. The first time Verstappen received a penalty of 10 places at the Belgian Grand Prix, the next one will entail a reduction of five places at the start.

Please note that the fine will be applied directly to the Brazilian Grand Prix race. There will also be a sprint at the Interlagos circuit this weekend, which will not be punishable.

Verstappen leads the individual standings of the 2024 World Championship. The Brazilian Grand Prix weekend will take place from November 1st to 3rd. The first practice and sprint qualifying will take place on Friday. The sprint and qualifying for the main race will take place on Saturday. The Brazilian Grand Prix race will take place on Sunday, November 3.
