“The date of this season’s first sprint format in Imola has proven to be a hit with fans and ticket sales. As a result, Formula 1 and the teams have supported the extension of six events to sprint for 2023 season, which will use the same system as this year“, the FIA ​​detailed in a statement after the meeting in London, led by FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem.

Among the new things, the organization unanimously approved the mandatory use of cameras on helmets for all pilots from next year.

In addition, reduced tire use was approved, reducing from 13 to 11 sets of tires at two events in 2023.

Finally, with the machines to be implemented in 2026, progress has been made on technical specifications, trying to improve performance, with an increase in electrical energy deployment of up to 50% and the use of 100 % sustainable fuel. .
