Six Sunday races of the SMP RSKG G-DRIVE ring series kept motorsport fans, who gathered at Moscow Raceway near Moscow, in suspense.
The results of the race in the Touring Light category can be called sensational on the second day of the competition: three drivers made it to the podium, driving Volkswagen Polo liftbacks with turbo engines. However, the technical commission found that these cars did not comply with the rules – and the whole trio was disqualified! Thus, the victory went to Artem Fridman, silver to Vladimir Cherevan, bronze to Oleg Kravtsov.
The pilots of the S1600 class, who started at the same time as them, distinguished themselves in contact wrestling. Only Ilya Sidorov successfully finished first. Vasily Vladykin got second place in a too difficult fight and was punished, so silver went to Stanislav Novikov, bronze to Kirill Zinoviev.
Touring class satisfied with a tight position fight. However, he was upset by the incident on the first lap, as a result of which Pavel Kalmanovich and Yegor Fokin retired – then, after the finish, with a fine for Yegor Orudzhev: for overtaking under yellow flags, the recent leader of the tournament went from 7th to 10th place. The first victory in the G-Drive premier class of the SMP RSKG in a fair fight was won by Artem Slutsky, the second place was won by Dmitry Bragin and the third by Kirill Ladygin.
In the blockbuster, as on the eve, one of the leaders of the tournament, Leonid Panfilov, was unlucky – on the first day the suspension could not stand him, on the second – another retirement. But his partner in the AvtoVAZ factory team – Ivan Chubarov – can be congratulated on the victory. Irina Sidorkova and Roman Golikov also made it to the podium.
On Sunday, two more races took place in SMP GT4 Russia. The morning session took place under the dictation of Denis Remenyako. Several drivers fought for second place at once – as a result, Rinat Salikhov crossed the finish line second. The judges found him guilty of the collision and moved him to position 4 – thus, the prizes went to Vadim Meshcheryakov and Anton Nemkin. However, the team appealed and until the court’s decision, the results are preliminary.
The evening supercar check-in was no less stressful. The favorites fought for several rounds in the best world traditions, as a result, Vadim Meshcheryakov was the first to cross the finish line, Denis Remenyako was content with silver. And the bronze award went for the first time to the driver, speaking on the Toyota Supra – he was the recent class debutant David Poghosyan.
Among the participants of the CN Sport Prototype class, the Legends cars again dominated – and Artem Kabakov became the best of their drivers. Aleksey Khairov got second place, Georgy Kudryavtsev took third.
However, in this class, RAF Cup points are awarded based on the number of starters – and quorum was reached in a subset of entrants performing on Shortcut machines. And here the winner was Artem Viktorov, who left behind two more winners – Stepan Krumilov and Sergey Peregudov.
Based on the results of two races, Shortcats drivers received cups in a separate G-Drive Cup standings. And here the first three winners completely copy the results of the second race.
In the SMP Historic Cup standings, drivers from each of the three groups receive awards. Andrey Kozlov, Igor Shunailov and Ivan Tarakanov were part of the A1 Zhiguli squad.
In subgroup A5, Vladimir Cherevan and Igor Tashaev became the best – the other three simply did not reach the finish line. Among them is Dmitry Korolev, who broke through on a super-fast VAZ-2101 from the depths of the back of the field and literally broke the front of the Moskvich-408, over which Vladislav Donets lost control.
Therefore, the task of the pilots of the Moskvich-2000 subgroup was simplified – the winner Denis Mysachev, Dmitry Kozlov and yesterday’s winner Vladislav Shevel got on the podium.
The retransmissions of all the races were broadcast on the federal television channel “” and the thematic channels “Match! Country” and “Match! Planet”.
The next and penultimate stage of the G-Drive SMP RCRS will once again bring together participants from all 8 classes and will be held on the rebuilt Igora Drive circuit near Saint Petersburg from September 9 to 11 in the format of the Festival of Speed.
