The world champion is the fastest in today’s rehearsals for the Spanish Grand Prix.

On a day with partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 22 ° C, MotoGP held two training sessions for the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera.
Two fell to Márquez
After a very equal morning session, drivers go to the track to continue working on the qualifying and race set-up. Despite some pain in his right shoulder from the fall in Portugal, Francesco Bagnaia took the lead in the first few minutes of the session, until Fabio Quartararo overtook him at 1.37.970 to be the fastest of the day.
In the middle of the session, Marc Márquez had two consecutive crashes. First on turn 6 and then he goes to the floor on turn 9, both at low speed. After that, he returned to the pits on a scooter driven by his former teammate, Dani Pedrosa, in one of the iconic images of the day.
Quartararo dominated the afternoon
In the last minutes of the session, times improved. Takaaki Nakagami was in front for a few minutes, but then they improved it. Finally, Fabio Quartararo was left with the best time of the day (1.37.071), Enea Bastianini was second in 201 thousandths, Francesco Bagnaia was third in 212, Jorge Martín was fourth in 297, Takaaki Nakagami was fifth in 510. They closed out the top 10: Brad Binder, Pol Espargaró, Alex Rins, Maverick Viñales and Jack Miller.
Activity for MotoGP in Jerez will continue tomorrow with FP3 at 04:55, FP4 from 08:30 and qualifying from 09:10 (Argentina time).
