Leclerc wins Italian Grand Prix, Verstappen second

Max will lose five positions on the grid

Ferrari pilot Charles Leclerc became the winner qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. Monegasque won pole position for the eighth time this season Formula 1.

The second time was shown by the overall leader Max Verstappen, however, due to the replacement of engine elements, the Red Bull pilot will lose five positions on the starting grid.

Also fined were Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Sergio Perez (Red Bull) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who finished third, fourth and fifth respectively in qualifying.

George Russell, with a sixth qualifying time, will start tomorrow’s race in second place.

The main race of the Italian Grand Prix at the track in Monza will be held on Sunday, September 11th. The beginning is at 16:00 Kyiv time.

In the overall Formula 1 standings, Verstappen is 109 points ahead of Perez and Leclerc.
