Verstappen scores fifth consecutive win at the Italian Grand Prix

Pilots finished under yellow flags immediately after the departure of the safety car

Pilot Red Bull Max Verstappen won the fifth consecutive victory in Formula 1by winning Italian Grand Prix.

The world champion started from third position, but managed to take the lead and confidently lead the race. With five laps to go, Verstappen was 19 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc.

For a while, the intrigue could be revived. McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo retired from the race, his car remained in a dangerous area, and the safety car entered the track. The advantage instantly melted away.

However, the struggle did not work out. Ricciardo’s car could not be quickly evacuated and the drivers finished under yellow flags just after the safety car left the track without the possibility of overtaking.

Charles Leclerc took second place, George Russell in a Mercedes was third. Verstappen strengthens his lead in the 2022 individual standings.
