Both teams, who will face off in Group D along with Los Pumas, have reported their squad lists. The place is completed by England and Samoa.
The rugby teams from Japan and Chile have announced their squads, so far with only 30 of the 33 that can be included, for the World Cup that will be held in France from September 8 and where they will be part of the Group D with Argentina, England and Samoa.
Japan, coached by New Zealander Jamie Joseph, has several injured players and fielded 30 confirmed players.
However, he has until August 21 to complete the list, the Rugby Journalism site reported.
For its part, Chile, which will play its first World Cup, has also made an official 30-player squad and is coached by Uruguayan Pablo Lemoine, who said: “Chile’s aim is to discover this competition, which means participating in a World Cup. When they go and they will be another type of player. Our expectation is always for growth”.
The Pumas will play in the World Cup against Chile, for the third date on September 30 at 10 am in Argentina, and against Japan in the fourth and final date, starting at 8:00 am
