San Isidro Club (SIC) became the champion of the Top 12 this Saturday of Buenos Aires Rugby Union (URBA) by heavy defeat Alumni through 15-12, in changing a penalty Joaquín Lamas in injury time, in a final played at Club Atlético de San Isidro (CASI).
The match, witnessed by seven thousand spectators, was presided over by referee Tomás Bertazza, with a favorable score for the Alumni of 9-3. With the victory at Cathedral, SIC achieved its 27th champion tournament title in Buenos Aires, after playing in their fourth straight final.
In a discreet final, SIC took advantage of four penalties converted by Lamas, who also added a drop. Minutes before the decisive execution, the admitted Joaquín Díaz Luzi missed a possible penalty that would have given the Alumini a chance to win the championship. Alumni added 12 points with four penalties converted by Bautista Canzani.
