Here’s how to clean WhatsApp to have more storage space

To avoid the headache of manually deleting data on WhatsApp, users can resort to certain strategies within the app itself.

WhatsApp is one of those Applications which can be used at any time of the day, whether to have a friendly conversation, find out about an emergency or communicate something important about work.

The very fact of occupying several cats daily can, sooner or later, cause a somewhat unpleasant situation to arise: the storage space fills up. And that’s when you have to decide what to delete and what to keep.

The good news is that within the messaging application itself there are certain policies that users can quickly apply, saving themselves the trouble of manually freeing up space from time to time.

How to clean WhatsApp

One of the most effective ways to automatically save storage space is to resort to temporary messages.

This is a function in which the conversations that have taken place are somehow ephemeral, since they are deleted after a certain time chosen by the user himself.

As WhatsApp describes on its blog , It is possible to configure the application so that messages are deleted after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days after sending them.

If you want to activate this function, you must enter the application and then Settings. Next, you must enter Privacy and Temporary Messages, where you can choose the default duration of what is written in the chat.

Once the decision is confirmed, the new individual chats presented in the application will have the chosen duration, thus saving a lot of storage space. However, it must be clear that the measure does not apply to conversations that took place before its activation.

Another step that may be helpful is deactivate, once and for all, the automatic backup option for photos and videos sent in chats. This is given that some of this content can take up a lot of storage on the social network.

To achieve the above, users need to open WhatsApp on their phone and then go to Settings. In this section you must access Chats, and there you must deactivate the Save to Photos function.

If both strategies are implemented together, Meta app users will have a more beneficial and productive experience than if they had to delete information manually.
