One of the rivals of the Ukrainians Gasanova withdrew from the tournament due to injury
Ukrainian tennis players Dayana and Ivanna Yastremsky reached the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament of the WTA 125 series tournament in Rouen.
The sisters were supposed to play against a pair of Anastasia Gasanova / Anastasia Komardina. However, Gasanova withdrew from the singles and doubles tournament, citing an injury. Ukrainians on the refusal of rivals went to the next round.
Note that Gasanova previously published a post on her Instagram profile in which she justified Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The tennis player in the description repeated the theses of Russian propaganda.
In the quarterfinals, the Yastremsky sisters will play with a pair of Misaki Doi (Japan) / Oksana Kalashnikova (Georgia). The duet of rival Ukrainians was seeded at the tournament in Rouen under the second number.
Recall that Dayana Yastremska was included in the Ukrainian national team for the playoff match of the Billie Jean King Cup against Japan.
