sport.Fr/Tennis. The former first racket of the world of Russia Evgueni Kafelnikov commented on the statements of the director of Roland Garros, Amélie Mauresmo, about possible sanctions for Russian tennis players.
Earlier, Mauresmo said that if the Russians supported President Vladimir Putin during the tournament, sanctions would be imposed on them.
“Russian tennis players have been allowed in Roland Garros, but you have to follow the talk. There is nothing in Mauresmo’s statement that in any way impinges on our athletes. It will all depend on the players of tennis themselves: how well they understand what’s going on and what can be said and what isn’t,” RIA Novosti Sport quotes Kafelnikov.
Roland Garros will be held in Paris from May 22 to June 5, 2022.
