Kamelzon suggested Halep could be framed in a doping situation

Honored coach of Russia, member of the board of directors of the Russian Tennis Federation Vladimir Kamelzon, in a conversation with , expressed the opinion that the former Romanian world number one Simon Halep could substitute in situations with prohibited substances.

On Friday, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) suspended Halep, 31, from competition for testing positive at this year’s US Open. Analysis of Sample B confirmed the result of Sample A, which contained Roxadastat, a drug banned by WADA. Halep herself said she denied intentional use of banned substances.

– If a prohibited substance is discovered, it is the problem of the athlete and his trainer. If they prove the use (of doping), Halep will be in big trouble. With players at this level, such stories rarely happen. I read that she had family issues, maybe it had something to do with it, maybe she took something, but I don’t know. Not being in the team, it is difficult to comment on this situation.

Or maybe someone framed it, could it be the same? Remember Maria Sharapova with meldonium. They destroyed Masha in advance, Kamelzon told .

Halep is ranked ninth in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Simone has won two Grand Slam tournaments in singles – the 2018 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon. In total, she has won 25 WTA tournaments (including 24 in singles). In total, Halep topped the WTA rankings for 64 weeks.
