Within the framework of the Russian-Austrian Public Forum “Sochi Dialogue”, scheduled to coincide with the National Day of the Republic of Austria (October 26), a major sports festival “Tennis Day” took place.
The event took place on the basis of the sports club “Multisport” of the Olympic complex “Luzhniki”.
Throughout the day of October 23, training, games and competitions in tennis, squash and table tennis took place in the indoor courts of the complex. Top-notch coaches will also hold master classes for beginners and advanced players. The program includes paired tournaments with valuable partner prizes.
The event was opened by Maria Matveeva, Director of the Sochi Public Dialogue Forum, and Viktor Batov, Master of Table Tennis Sports, Honored Coach of Russia and Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports.
In her welcome speech, Forum Director Matveeva stressed the importance of maintaining civil dialogue:
— In the Sochi dialogue we talk a lot about trust, now it is especially important that people, and not parties in relations, listen to each other and listen to each other, meet, exchange opinions. Events such as today’s festival once again underline that despite the difficult geopolitical situation, audiences in our countries are finding ways to interact. And we, the Sochi Dialogue, are only helping them in this.
