Pegula won the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara and became the third racket of the world

American Jessica Pegula became the winner of the tournament WTA 1000 in Guadalajara (Mexico).

In the final, Pegula defeated Maria Sakkari of Greece in straight sets.

The American tennis player played her fifth career final and her second at the WTA 1000 tournaments. The title in Guadalajara was her first in this category and the largest in her career.

The victory in Guadalajara allowed Pegula to update her personal rating record by two positions – from today she is the third racket of the world.

Recall that Pegula became a participant in the WTA Final Tournament, which will be held in Fort Worth, USA from October 31 to November 7 on a hard surface.
