Safiullin failed to beat former world number one Murray in the Basel tournament

Russian tennis player Romain Safiullin lost to the British Andy Murray in the first round of the tournament in Basel, Switzerland.

The Russian won the first set on a tie-break. Then he lost the second game and in the third he led 4-1, but then gave the opponent five games in a row.

The meeting lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes. Safiullin, who sits 93rd in the ATP rankings, and Murray (the former leader of the world rankings, and now the 49th racket in the world) had 11 aces each.
